Application forms may be got from motor taxation office or you may apply online at www.dtts.ie or lo-call 1890 606 106
Begin to familiarise yourself with the ‘Rules of the Road’ book.
Get your ‘Learner Permit’
Organise a course of driving lessons from an R.S.A. Approved Driving Instructor who can display an RSA identity card with a reference number and photo.
On completion of driving lessons continue to pracice safe driving with a person who has a full driving licence for 2 years or more. Remember to always display L Plates.
After six months on a learners permit you may apply for your driving test, provided you feel confident in all techniques of driving, keeping in mind that your own safety and the safety of other road users is your ultimate priority.
Once you receive your appointment for driving test you will again need a mini course of driving lessons covering test routes. A pre-test assessment may also be availed of. With proper preparation and instruction you can pass your test first time.
